Involvement
I've always felt involvement in the communities you are passionate about is important. The arts community has forever been a safe haven for the creatives of the world to express themselves in a visual way. With my previous internships and work, I have found the community of artists and art organizations in Chicago to be a place where passionate, caring people gather to lift one another up.
I have had the opportunity to be encompassed by wonderful artists and non-for-profit art organizations that keep alive the ever-growing community through my internship work/volunteering. In particular, I helped the Chicago Artists Coalition with their annual benefit, Starving Artist in 2016, created materials for their educational programs, and got to learn about their amazing efforts in sustaining the art community. I have been opened up to a whole new appreciation and yearn for involvement and am currently looking for more opportunities to do so in the future.
